A passive damper using specially designed U-shaped steel as the energy-dissipating element. Relative displacement drives plastic yielding of the U-shaped steel, converting structural kinetic energy into heat.
Its principle is based on plastic hysteretic energy dissipation. During earthquakes, structural deformation bends the U-shaped arms out of plane and forms stable hysteresis.

MYD-U offers strong deformation capacity, stable mechanics, economy, and broad applicability in seismic and wind vibration control.
